Just wondering.. since the new forums were introduced..quite a while ago,  the recent posts hasn't worked correctly.. I come everyday expecting sooner or later it will work.. as of now.. I \ we have to go to Main or Gallery page for the Recent Forum Activity to work.. a while back even it wasn't working and again..today it isn't working again.

Considering to me at least this is one of the most useful and important features it would be nice to know if its going to be fixed or not as it is really a pain to have to navigate all over site to use it efficiently.

cheers.

Andrew is wicked busy with other projects (many which will benefit WC later).  I wouldn't consider this a high priority in his book.

Since the forums haven't worked right in a long long time, one would wonder just what is highest priority in satisfying paying subscribers. The other Stardock sites seem to run pretty smooth. As a paying subscriber, I certainly don't feel like Stardock is honoring their part of the subscription. Saying that the developers have more important things on their plate only drives the knife in further.

I am not sure if I will be subscribing again. It would be foolish of me based on the site performance the past couple of years.

For what it's worth . .I don't speak for Stardock or WC.    These are my thoughts only based on tidbits picked up from posts here and there.

Oh sure. Rarely any ads showing lately and then I read this thread and the ads come back with a vengeance on every page now. I think you've brought down the wrath of andrew_

Le sigh. Let's set the record straight:

  • I/Webdev dont make our priority lists public
  • Zubaz is not an authority on what our present or future project, todo list, or priority list is. (Sorry to bash you in public, but you didnt leave me much choice)
  • When an issue gets reported (and this one was) it immediately gets attention. We almost always investigate right away so we know what kind of time is required to resolve the issue.
Also, I want to say that negative and/or pessimistic comments like those left by a few users in this post do absolutely nothing constructive and definitely do not make the devs or anyone else more motivated. They do nothing but reflect poorly upon the author. Normally I would moderate the bajeezus out of this post and some of the comments that were left, but I want them to remain as an example of how not to participate in a 'Site Issues' post.

This particular issue has been identified and fixed in an upcomming new version of the forums. The changelist for the new version is already a 10kb text file. We're working on hardware and network upgrades to accompany the new version and will be migrating forum sites to the new version as we are able.

Post Locked. Issue Closed.
