congrats on your month   soon it will be two months

I smoked for 35 years.  I tried repeatedly to quit and always failed in the end.  Then a good friend of mine, a smoker, got throat cancer.  He had his larnyx removed and was left with a permanent air hole in his neck.  He had to talk with a machine.  After visiting him in the hospital, I threw away the fags.  The key for me was sufficient motivation.  Best of luck.  I hope you make it because I'd like to be still downloading new VStyler skins twenty years from now

yep...he made it.......now 2 years to the day.....and not a puff.....congratulations v......

and congratulations, in advance, to teddy for 2 years on Jan 15th....I hope it's still going strong.... 

I hope others who've mentioned they've been trying here.....have had success.....

and...for anyone who's fallen off the wagon....or thinking of trying.....perhaps you can read back....and gain a little inspiration.....

Congrats v... I tried to post this earlier but only got the "Egads" timeout. You've done a very difficult thing and deserve respect for that.

After 16 years, I've finally started the process of attempting to possibly quit smoking. Last week I ordered some nicotine patches and as of this past Monday, I've smoked between 1 pack to 3/4 of a pack per day. I know it doesn't seem too impressive, but, before Monday I was smoking two packs a day.

any reduction is a good start...I hope you carry it all the way through.....

if you feel it would help...feel free to use this thread to log your progress....or slips...to document how you are going....plenty of encouragement to be had here.....and its good to have a check in point......
