BTW, the Party's name is "The Tea Party". People should not be disrespected because of their beliefs unless they posit hate and violence towards others or illegal/immoral actions.

The term "tea bagging" refers to something else entirely and should be removed from the thread. People belonging to the Tea Party do not deserve that disrespect, just as the Democrats, Republicans (and not "Republicons" - yet another divisive and repugnant reference) and everyone else should not be disrespected for their beliefs.

I think those insulting references should be corrected. None of us, no matter what our political identification might be is deserving of that and it infringes or comes too damned close to infringing on the TOS.

This is a Community of people with widely divergent and diverse beliefs, ideas and feelings.

If that can't be honored and respected, then nothing should be said/written at all.

To give you an idea of where I'm at in the galaxy, I thought when Pete Townsend clubbed Abbie Hoffman off the stage at Woodstock with his Gibson SG that was pretty cool. Time and a place dude. I supported Hoffman's ideas back then but don't mess with The Who!

I hear that Hank Williams Jr. goes off pretty bad on Obama for 4 or 5 min. at a time during his concerts. He has a picture of Obama with a Hitler mustache displayed. That's messed up man.

Look I got about 5 more years left and then I can get full Social Security and Medicare. I've paid into those programs for a long time. Like a lot of people because of personal circumstances and the messed up economy my private retirement funds have been wiped out. I do have a lot of equity in the house but hell, real estate values are shot to hell.

Here's the bottom line regardless of how it began and who let it happen. Actually both parties let it happen. Carter was a weak President who had good ideas but couldn't get anything done. Regan let the Wall Street wolves, and corporations loose. Bush Senior just sucked. Clinton was able to balance the budget and have a good economy but then there's NAFTA to soil that record. Bush Jr. was probably the worst President ever. ok having said all that it's still Congress who really controls this ship. They control the money. They pass the bills the Presidents submit or they kill the bills the Presidents submit. So we can praise or damn the Presidents all we want but it's a fact that if we really want to right the ship we need a fully functioning Congress that is willing to compromise with an effective President. Frankly I don't see it now or in 2012. Sad but true.

Out there I've seen pictures of Obama with a Hitler mustache, a bone in his nose. Look at Rick Perry and the name he had for his hunting lodge. The way Hank Jr. and Ted Nugent act. The outrageous things Rush and Glenn Beck say. My rage at those type of things that have come from the radical right, is why I use those terms. I'm very upset at anyone who thinks any of those people and their actions in that disgusting manner is correct. There's a line between right and wrong you know.
