How's it workin for ya 3 years later?

Anyone better off?... that's a good one !

here's the good news.. Nov. 2012 isn't so far off... and I for one will look back on the 4 lost years of my life, and realize..

  ....I can finally breath again.

So... lastly, I am willing to go out on a limb, and a year ahead, predict.. , no, guarantee... a massive conservative victory...

......If I'm wrong... I'm sure a few of you will be back to remind me I posted this.

The Free Market will reign again.

                                                                                      Hope and change.. is.. coming.

do we really have so much short term memory loss. the financial meltdown occurred at the end of the previous administrations watch when "those" guys got caught with the hands in the cookie jar.

anywho, I'm voting for the current administration next round again. It may not be the best but he sure beats the other team's entries hands down.

on Sep 28, 2011

You will get no argument from me on that John.

I just don't see if happening with the current political process, no matter whom the candidates are.  This is what has probably caused many civilizations to crash and disappear through out history, the outright inbred greed of the system.

guys like chris dodd and barney frank u mean?

Annnnyway.. lets see some figures about how any sector of this countries economy is any better off due to this Admin's policies. The time for blaming an ancient administration is over.. this is Obama's economy now.. he owns it.

his is what has probably caused many civilizations to crash and disappear through out history, the outright inbred greed of the system.

The average democratic 'civilization' has a lifespan of about 200 years.. we are overdue a downfall.

The good news is, while yes, I agree the current line up of candidates is less than impressive, as long as they repeal the big jobkiller (Obamacarenot), make real steps to reducing regulations, spending and size of govt. We do NOT have to fail.

I, for one.. as long as I can survive one more year....am an optimist

This was after 2 years.. of hope and change... its worse now.. of course.

Can anyone say Solyndra? FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS squandered... gone... at your expense... by this admin.

terrible, these guys should go to jail but then again so should the investment brokers/bankers that tanked the economy.

how are we better off? well, I got a hip replaced last year so I'm getting around much better, I started drawing SS and now have an income, my son (age 10) gets a SS monthly stipend until he's 18 hopefully to pay for a college education, my wife just got a 5% raise, we changed from att to t-mobile saving $10/mo and our property taxes only went up $5.00 this year. Better off is a relative term and based on perspective.

vStyler
Quoting gmc2, reply 12but I don't know what an administration change would actually do for you

All depends on who is voted in.. now doesn't it.

you have no opinion based on any of the rhetoric, that doesn't sound like you.

I love it when people pull out statistics to suit their arguments. do you have some statistics showing these numbers at the end of the Clinton and Bush era administrations.

on Sep 28, 2011

They F with my SS and I will vote for you V as long as you won't mess with it.I need it to live.

on Sep 28, 2011

The Country is worse off than at ANY time in our past except for the Civil War and the Great Depression. Anyone who believes otherwise is smoking too much hope.

on Sep 28, 2011

do you have some statistics showing these numbers at the end of the Clinton and Bush era administrations.

yes but they aren't relevant, to me. I was flourishing then... Now, I am not. and again, news flash, Bush, nor Clinton, nor Carter, are in Office.

Obama is.

also...another word for these 'statistics' is.. facts... and 'we' pull them out, merely to show what a catastrophic failure Obama's administration has been..... take a good look. It's the first rule of debating, make sure you can back up your argument.

It truly blows my mind that ANY one can look at these figures..and look around this country, this world.. and then pull the lever for the same team.. again.

You say what gets to you the MOST.. is special interest.. again.....SOLYNDRA... and your going to vote for them again?

I guess it's not getting to you.. that much.

Hope and Change (2000) had its chance... It failed us.

I have to decide whether to eat or whether to get my meds filled...most months, I don't have enough for both.

I apologize if I have offended anyone...that was not my intent. I am just venting my frustrations...

sorry to hear that MJ. I hope that that will change when these politicians stop being politicians and start being human beings, doing what is right for ALL of us. absolutely no offense taken, best thoughts to you.

Okay, so lets look at the unemployment number.

Yes it went up but there are several factors which I think never get talked about.

Number of jobs available, keeps going down because it's cheaper to send our jobs overseas.  We just don't make anything anymore in this country.

Number of people able to retire making jobs available, going down because folks can not afford to retire, and there is that thing about people living longer.

Number of people entering the job market keeps going up each year due to the fact that, well you know why.

So, what's the reason for unemployment, none of us see the bigger picture, well that is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

So, what's the reason for unemployment

Easiest one of all, massive regulatory increases, uncertainty regarding Obamacare requirments and tax codes and the inability and reluctance of the banks to lend.

No one is hiring, because no one knows what is coming down the pipeline from Obama.

The biggest killer of jobs and the economy, is UNCERTAINTY

What is sad is they know it, everyone knows it and they do nothing. They want people unemployed and under-employed.. so that everyone has to rely on , you guessed it..... the G O V T.

Call it what u want, socialism, marxism, communism, whatever you want to call it..

IT DOES NOT WORK. It will always fail. Time and again, history proves this to us. lets hope, this time, the entire concept is buried.

Chris Christie said it perfectly last night..

'Now, seven years later, President Obama prepares to divide our nation to achieve re-election.  This is not a leadership style, this is a re-election strategy.  Telling those who are scared and struggling that the only way their lives can get better is to diminish the success of others.  Trying to cynically convince those who are suffering that the American economic pie is no longer a growing one that can provide more prosperity for all who work hard.  Insisting that we must tax and take and demonize those who have already achieved the American Dream.  That may turn out to be a good re-election strategy for President Obama, but is a demoralizing message for America'

If Christie doesn't run... he damn well should have.

Yes John, I am not opposed to any woman running for office, Man, Woman, tall, short, skinny, heavy...black, white or purple, matter not to me.

How about blueblue? ?

I have, those statistics are based on the condition of the economy when Obama took office and what was attempted to get the economy back on track. Are all of his decisions good ones, NO. But he is working without the republican's help/cooperation. Clinton's screw up with letting the market regulate it self took 10 years before the disaster became apparent. Time goes slow in DC, those stats and the end of the Clinton/Bush eras is a part of the overall picture that effects us all today.

vStyler
It truly blows my mind that ANY one can look at these figures..and look around this country, this world.. and then pull the lever for the same team.. again.

I'm on the other side of the fence (duh) here. I don't see how anyone can support a political party that represents only 2% of the population.

on Sep 28, 2011

Im not in that 2% top tier, but they represent me, just fine.

Less Spending, Smaller Govt, and unleash the American entrepreneurial spirit.

None.. of which Obama has done.

Greg, I wonder if you even realize, every post, you have blamed someone else.

It's a tried and true liberal stipend... when you have nothing left to stand on... blame someone else.

People are waking up, people are taking notice, hell, how can one not?

Neither Obama, or any Dem. will be re-elected in 12, the writing is on the wall and the ship is sinking fast.

wow, the republicans have doing this for a much longer time with issues such as abortion.

the jobs are being moved overseas where cheap labor and unsafe wroking conditions are the norm. Guess where the ipad, iphone, GE jet engines and other such items are being manufacturered. not only selling out the American worker but giving away advanced technology.
