Well, after failing miserably last year at this time I am going to try quit smoking again..

I am using nicoderm CQ patches and will power.

Day 1 - 12:27pm....All is well...

Wish me luck.

A week is over, so quickly! I know it probably seems longer.

Now just what do you mean by feeling pretty rough and no better than day 1? Yeah those of use that have gone through what you are now do know what you mean. It does though help to talk about that feeling. It's just like anything else bad that happens in your life, talking about helps put it in it's place, that past.

Better days are coming.

Congrats John, getting through the first week is a great achievement. The more you do, the harder it is to cheat yourself - keep at it.

Ohhh it does...the longest i quit for was 6 months...i never felt so energetic, i no longer had the lung capacity of a 4 year old and people often commented "your skin has a nice cmplexion"...so hang in there man..also, did you know that after 20 minutes of smoke free, your blood pressure and pulse rate returns to normal.(i used to get pulpatations) Check this out WWW Link..I used to read that everyday to help...it worked...but unfortunately my will power gave in  ..but hopefully it will help you..so..keep at it!!!!!!!

It would taste like burnt wood you would not enjoy it.

Then you would have a guilt attack because you had one, and waste ages kicking yourself for having one. So it's easier to carry on the good fight without one.

Just think of that big bowl of Breakfast Butts, waiting...
The smoke-breath of death in the a.m.
I used to drive taxi here in a ski resort, had stopped smoking for a few years, and the smell of the cabs when starting a shift was a stunner. Sometimes even threw my clothes away after.

Smoke something else, instead...

Almost 9 months for me now, and yes, John, everyone else in the early stages of quitting, it does get easier as time goes on. The first couple of weeks were the hardest for me, but remaining focussed on the reasons for quitting, the gruesome alternative if I didn't, made it that much easier to fight it out when a craving stopped by.

Stick to your guns guys, it's well worth it for a multitude of reasons.
