Go John!
We keep the faith John.
I dunno y'all, layers works fine for a nice tileable pattern, for instance hexagons or pinstripes, but for something like this, a weatherized, aged texture, there really is no suitable way to do it within WB.
I'm thinking about just removing all textures and going with just a metallic surface, or maybe even some kind of carbon fiber.
Wasn't something similar done with Rust?
Have you tried the option to add textures to your frames in sks?
I don't know how it works but it may be an option......I'm guessing it adds the texture to the whole frame rather than separately on the different bits.
well, it would still tile... same end result, plus, that isnt going to work for the toolbar either.
Im pretty much resolved to just removing teh textures and getting on with this WB.
It was actually how I first envisioned the theme anyway.
lets face it.. WB is just not really designed to display re-sizable, random textures.
The only other option is to make a windowblinds texture and add it with the blind .
well... again.. same effect.. a cheesy repeated pattern, will just detract from the theme I think.
Nope, just gonna leave it clean, metallic, shiny..
I always seem to like what vStyler chooses when he is putting together a WB Theme, must have something to do with his experience.
Edit:
Its not a matter of 'pulling it off'.. its whether I want to put forth a tiled texture.
If you think that looks good, by all means, feel free to do so.
I've decided not to, it looks better to me, plain, than having repeating textures, which I think looks bloody awful and unprofessional.
I will never upload anything that, to me..is..anything less than optimal. I'm just funny like that
watch and learn grasshopper....
get one medal and....
Ok, enough chit chat....back to work. Don't keep a redneck waiting....an idle redneck is a scary thing....
Should have a PSD or 5 for you in a couple of days..
