Oh yes...heres an idea,  I'd like it if all of you would either listen to the radio show or.. watch the TV show.. all week

Try not to miss one day as he tends to connect one show to another.

Each day, or at the end of week you can come in and explain why you think the main point of each show.. is either factually incorrect or in some way racist, lunatic blah blah etc..

and perhaps try to view the information from as much of a non-partisan aspect as you can.

...or not.

Then sorry to say but that tells me exactly what I thought in your case then.

Hell, watch #1 and see if you don't want to see the rest... and remember.. it's not how its being presented (insert ass clown here) but what is.. being presented.

I've watched it. I watched it last week when he brought his shrink/friend on and showed him the list of names his been called in the past week. He asks him how to 'go into battle' against these people that would call him names. The shrinks anologies start off with comparisons to drug users.

Beck then says "You know who will save this country? Alcoholics and drug addicts." His reasoning is that they 'know the dea'l and understand the name calling.

From there he admits he is a 'religous nut job' and the worst thing that could happen to him would be 'returning to my heavenly father without honor. Without doing what I was supposed to do." Not losing his job. Not losing his car.

I have nothing against him being religous. Not one damn thing.  But he said nothing about being objective or responsible. As much as I don't agree with the guy, it was painful to watch. He all but said that his own 'agenda' was motivated by his religous background. It gave me flashbacks of Howard Beale saying he heard 'a voice' and the voice told him what to do.

Whatever his motivation, the guy is losing it. What if Obama   announced all he has done so far was for the honor of his heavenly father. That that was the most important thing to him, above losing the presidency or his place in history? Beck would be all over it. The first thing he would  want to know (if he didn't assume he already knew) was exactly who Obama's God was.

I'm starting to think more and more of the 30 million who tune in do so for the same reasons his fans do. They like a good train wreck. I think folks are tuning in now to watch him implode.

I was going to challenge you, John.  I started out with this post offering a quid pro quo -- I would watch your 5 installments of Glenn Beck, if you would watch the 5 selected installments of Bill Moyers that I would post for you.  Tomorrow is my day off and I was going to offer to thoroughly waste 4-5 hours of my most precious time gagging on the spew this panderer of fear, if you would be willing to do the same for me.  But then...then I clicked on the link and started listening to this guy and thought to myself immediately, "Oh my nonexistent deity, PoSmedley is SPOT on -- this guy is Howard Beale at his zenith!  He even has the same rhythm to his rants!  His voice has the same timbre!  I keep waiting for him to say it...SAY IT, GLENN!  'I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!!' SAY IT!"

I read his little chalkboard agenda and it was an epiphany!  I had SQUANDERED my precious time on fear 8 years ago, when I worried over an almost identical chalkboard agenda (substitute the word "Healthcare" with the word "Terrorism"), and here I am, 8 years later, still alive, still struggling, still fighting the good fight.  Where the heck was Glenn Beck when the debt was mounting on the war in Iraq?  Where was he when Osama Bin Laden broadcast his little tape claiming, almost Mr. Burns-esque," that his plan was doing exactly as he wished...America was bankrupting itself fighting a battle of little consequence against zealots armed with make-shift explosive devices and high-tech weapons they stole from us being over there (What a double whammy!  Our finest and brightest blown up with our own crap in the hands of people who thought so little of their own lives they would risk it to destroy one of ours!).

Nothing in politics has changed in the last 10 years other than the faces the Network plasters on our boob tubes and their chosen buzz words they use to provoke emotion in their puppets, us the viewing public.

Facts about me: 1) I don't believe in God. 2) I don't believe the United States has a superior form of government, nor that we are "special" or "significant" to any other country or form of government. 3) I'm over the hill -- I have lived more years on the planet than I have left to live.  4) I have spent most of those lived years either angry, sad, unfulfilled, or restless.

So, after review of those facts, I have made the voluntary decision that I'm NOT going to take your challenge, and I am going to make the most of the years I have left, and rather than be a pawn to emotions and forces that do not optimize the time I have left, I am going to actively seek out pleasantries, things that evoke peace and calm and serenity.  The panic and hype of the day ends up panning out to nothingness anyway.
